Four Corners Revisited

Beginning April 20 I led a group totalling 27 people in 8 vehicles to 28 different stops during a five day, 1,500 mile trip around parts of the Four Corners area. The tour started in Grand Junction and involved overnight stops in Farmington, NM, Winslow, AZ, Kanab, UT, Bluff, UT, and ending in Grand Junction. The trip, originally planned to satisfy a commitment I'd made to the Colorado C&S Society, grew to include a British couple from Wales and Mindy & Pat Fusaro (CSSA) from Pahrump, NV. This tour involved many of the stops from our CSSA tour last summer. For obvious reasons I did not lead the '54-footed Cactus Stomping Monster' into the one & only 'secret' P. knowltonii site nor did we visit any of the established Pediocactus study plots. From myperspective I thought the trip went quite well and we saw a number of specimens of each plant species I'd intended to show, however, this is an adventure I am unlikely to ever again undertake due to logistics.
