Optimization of potato brush cleaning equipment.

摘要

Comparative studies were carried out on performance of different types of brush cleaning equipment suitable for scrubbing potatoes prior to direct marketing. Equipment available differed widely in cleaning performance and effects on potato appearance(peel lightness). Various factors were identified which influenced cleaning intensity and/or potato appearance including brush design, number of brush rotations, throughput speed and potato shape.
