Getting the Message to Albany

Most of us managing a successful forest resource on our own properties recognize the long-term commitment required for success. We try to do our homework and seek professional assistance to reach our goals. Making this long-term commitment effective requires the State of New York to understand our challenges and to work with us to achieve our goals. NYFOA and other forestry related organizations face a constant challenge of working with our legislators and the governor's aaministration to inform themof the threats to having a healthy forest. The Council of Forest Resource Organizations (CFRO), to which NYFOA belongs, works to deliver a unified message to our representatives in Albany. CFRO works to develop key issue statements that we all can all support. CFRO coordinates the annual Forestry Awareness Day (FAD) where we visit legislative and administrative representatives and make them aware of our key concerns.
