LTV moves Copperweld managers into steel business

LTV Corp. has turned to its Copperweld division managers to rescue its troubled integrated-steel business. John Turner was named the new chief operating officer of LTV Corp. Turner, 55, has overall management responsibility for LTV's integrated-steel business and metal-fabrication operations, including LTV Copperweld and VP Buildings. He retains his duties as executive vice president of LTV Corp. and president of LTV Copperweld.The management changes announced on Feb. 26th are the first since LTV filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in December. LTV bought Copperweld in 1999.
