Congressmen Roil Out Revamped, Bipartisan NatGas Vehicle Legislation

Prompted by the recent run-up in oil prices, 80 members of the US House of Representatives re-introduced bipartisan legislation last week that seeks to expand incentives for the widespread deployment of vehicles powered by natural gas. The bill was an overhauled version of proposals introduced in 2009 and 2010. This time around, the initiative is taking a more targeted approach and would provide five years of certainty through tax incentives and credits, rather than 17 years as proposed in past versions.
