Chesapeake, Williams Sign Deals Easing Haynesville, Utica Costs

Chesapeake Energy and gas pipeline major Williams signed new gas gathering agreements last week, covering Chesapeake's growing production in the Haynesville Shale of Northwest Louisiana and the dry gas region of the Utica Shale in Eastern Ohio. The Oklahoma City-based exploration and production company said the agreements will provide significant improvements in the per-unit natural gas gathering rates in two of its major growth regions, starting in 2016. Chesapeake also pledged increased volumes to Williams over the next several years.
