Rosneftegas to Get New State Assets

Russia’s state holding Rosneftegas, through which the state holds stakes in the country’s biggest crude oil and gas producers, Rosneft and Gazprom, is set to acquire new assets, some of which might be of interest to Rosneft. President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree under which Rosneftegas should within nine months get state stakes in 13 companies currently belonging to Russia’s Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo). One of the most interesting assets is a 50% stake in Arcticshelfneftegas, which holds the license for the Medynsko-Varandeisky area in the Barents Sea.
