Russia’s energy ministry has issued a new warning to Belarus about the latter’s obligations on gasoline supplies, part of complex talks on energy commitments as the two countries adjust their faltering economies to the reality of lower oil prices. Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky said last week that Belarus was not fulfilling its obligations on supplying gasoline to Russia and the ministry has proposed steps that the government could take "to rouse [Belarus] to carry out its commitments." His comments came just after Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko said that Minsk would continue supplying Russia with gasoline "in accordance with existing agreements" - a statement many took to mean "as Belarus deems necessary."
