摘要

Cherry tomato (Solanum lycopersicon var. cerasiforme) is a botanical variety of the cultivated tomato or a smaller garden variety of tomato, having chromosome number 2n=24. They are often about cherry sized which is probably how the small tomatoes gottheir name. It is widely cultivated in Central America when the Conquistadores arrived and is distributed in California, Korea, Germany, Mexico and recently in India. The sweetness of cherry tomatoes can complement a wide range of foods and it intensifies with cooking.
