摘要

Under the present circumstances of complex environmental situation, staff needs motivation to take up the improved practices by initiating some human resource development activities (Patil2009), Further, to develop the staff a new agenda for HRD for extension personnel in terms of required competencies in knowledge and skill such as technical, organizational, managerial and communication and business will be required in order to meet the challenges. The importance of human resource arises, in this era of democracy. Multiplicity of technology transfer, narrow focus on agriculture extension and farmer's accountable system, globalization and shrinking of arable land due to urbanization and growing population have drawn more attention on training and HRD (Narayana Swamy, 2008). Over the years, substantial investment has been made on the creation of training infrastructure for man power development in the country (Nethravathi, 2007).
