Correlation and regression studies in horsegram (Macrotyloma uniflorum Lam. Verde.)

Correlation and regression analysis carried out in horsegram in relation to application of different sources of phosphorus conducted during kharif 1999 revealed that seed yield was positively and significantly correlated with growth parameters like plant height (0.9408), number of leaves (0.9638), number of branches (0.9676) and leaf area index (0.6244). Positive significant correlation was also observed between seed yield and nodule number (0.9266). The yield components viz., number of pods per plant (0.9280), number of seeds perpod (0.7509), pod length (0.8263) and 1000-seed weight (0.9753) were positively and significantly correlated with seed yield.
