Genetic variability and correlation studies in horsegram (Macrotyloma uniflorum (Lam.) Verde.)

The genetic variability and nature of character association was studied in 59 genotype of horsegram (Macrotyloma uniflorum (Lam) Verde.). A wide range of genetic variability was observed m yield and yield contributing characters. All of the charactersevaluated, exhibited considerable magnitude of heritability in broad sense and genetic advance. The magnitude of PCV was greater than that of GCV. Genotypic correlation coefficients were greater than that of phenotypic correlation coefficients. Seed yield showed strong positive association with pods plant.
