But not every case of note actually goes to trial, and that lack of a judicial result does not necessarily make it less instructive. With that in mind, we revisit some familiar territory: the now-concluded bankruptcy of energy provider Mirant—more precisely, its litigation against its one-time parent, The Southern Company.
