Genetic alterations to the PAX gene family may explain the survival disparities between African American and non-Latino white men who have head and neck cancer, according to a study presented at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Sixth Conference on the Science of Cancer Health Disparities in Racial/Ethnic Minorities and the Medically Underserved, held December 6 to 9, 2013, in Atlanta, Georgia.
