Some of the most serious farm accidents involve a combination of machinery, fatigue and untrained workers and at harvest all these factors can come into play. Part one in a two-part pre-harvest safety series looks at preparing machinery and silos forharvest. Harvest is the business end of the year, when all hands on deck are needed to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible. But in the haste of stripping, storing and selling your grain it is easy to become complacent about safety.
