Fruit characteristics and storability of 'Fuyu' persimmon as affected by location of the orchards and position within the tree canopy.

摘要

Persimmon cv. Fuyu fruits were harvested inside or outside the canopies of trees from sloped and low-land orchards in Changwon and Gimhae, Gyeongnam, South Korea. Fruits from sloped lands matured earlier than those from the low-land orchards. Fruits outside the canopy were heavier by 20% and had better colour compared to those from inside the canopy although the former had low fruit firmness. Fruits from inside the canopy recorded higher potassium content. Fruit softening after 96 days of storage was 1.1 and 6.1% in fruits from inside and outside the canopy, respectively. Fruit size was negatively related to fruit firmness, whereas fruit softening was positively related to soluble solid contents and fruit firmness..
