摘要

We performed 3-dimensional computational fluid dynamics analysis to make it possible to estimate at the design stage the air flow in the engine compartment, which is a main factor in determining the cooling performance on construction equipment.For the computational model, we used a non-structual lattice model of a tetrahedral cell. For the fan, we modeled a fan vane shape, and applied rotating effect for the area around the fan at the rotation coordinates. In addition, we added the resistancecharacteristics to the opening, and used the results of the comparison with the actual measurements of the amount of air flowing at the opening to confirm that this system is fully effective as a design tool.
