The chromatographic retention of molydoheteropolyacids of silicate and phosphate as ion associates with tetrabutylammonium bromide on the reversed phase C_(18) in the ion-paired mode of high-performance liquid chromatography (UV detection at 310 nm) was studied. The separation conditions were optimized. A procedure for chromatographic determination of silicon and phosphorus in water with their simultaneous presence was suggested. The calibration plots were linear in the range 0.01-0.1 #mu#g/ml (silicon) and 0.02-0.15 #mu#g/ml (phosphorus). The detection limits for silicon and phosphorus amounted to (1.4+-0.3) X 10~(-3) and (6.7+-1.2) X 10~(-3) #mu#g/ml, respectively. The procedure was used to analyze distilled water.
