摘要

PURPOSE:To efficiently produce the corsslinked copolymer particles effective as s a column packing material for reversed-phase partition liquid chromatography by subjecting corsslinkable vinyl ester having a hydroxyl group in the molecule, etc., to an aq. suspension polymn., then bringing the same into reaction with 6 to 24C aliphat. acid, etc. CONSTITUTION:The crosslinkable vinyl ester or crosslinkable vinyl ether having hydroxyl group and a vinyl compd. to be used at need are subjected to the aq.suspension polymn. in the presence of an org. solvent which does not compatibilize with water at need to form the crosslinked copolymer particles. The 6 to 24C aliphat. acid or its acid anhydride or acid chloride is brought into reaction with the crosslinked copolymer particles obtd. in such a manner. The resulted spherical crosslinked copolymer particles are classified at need and are used as the column packing material for reversed-phase liquid chromatography. The crosslinked copolymer particles produced in such a manner are highly resistant to acids and alkalis and have the small differences in swelling and shrinking among various kinds of solvents. The column for reversed-phase partition liquid chromatography for which these particles are used has excellent characteristics.
