MOD prepares for Freedom of Information

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has gone live with a web-based pilot version of the publication scheme that all public authorities must prepare under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The project, managed by Detica working in partnership with the MOD, is an important step for the Department in preparing for the November 2002 deadline set for all areas of Central Government to implement a publication scheme. The MOD pilot went live in February 2002 and is currently accessible at www.foi.mod.uk
