Introduction to special issue on ADC modelling and testing: 4th workshop on ADC modelling and testing

摘要

Most of the signal processing performed in electronic systems is nowadays digital, and the role of the analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) placed at the borders of the digital domain gains a particular relevance. In addition, the most recent applications in fields such as telecommunication, measurement and consumer electronics ask for the ever-increasing ADC performances in terms of resolution and speed. Moreover, effects of the uncertainty of ADC strongly affect accuracy of the overall system. Consequently, problem of ADC and DAC characterisation assumes interest not only for manufacturers but mainly for system integrators as well as for end users.
