Husky prepares for China production

Husky (Bolton,ON) will break ground on its 10,000-sq-m manufacturing facility for injection molding machines in Shanghai,China,within the next six-odd months with completion slated for early 2007,according to president and CEO Robert Schad.Speaking to Modern Plastics Worldwide at the official opening of the firm's new technical center at the same site in Shanghai in early November,Schad said in the interim,production of the first made-in-China small presses (90- to 225-tonnes) would be fast-tracked by using space at Husky's old Shanghai technical center-a 1700-sq-m facility located 5 minutes away.
