MORE THAN 1.5 BLN GALLONS OF ETHANOL PRODUCTION CAPACITY IDLE-RFA

The Renewable Fuels Association (RFA) said that 11.532 bln gallons of ethanol production capacity were operational as of August 4, 2009 out of a nameplate production capacity of 13.063 bln. Thus, 1.53 bln gallons are lying idle. According to RFA data, 1.472 bln gallons are presently under construction.
