Confined to campus, college tutors risk finding themselves out of touch with what's really happening at the motor industry 'coalface'. But under a placement scheme known as Business Interchange, they have the opportunity to update their knowledge before moving back to the classroom. Here, we profile two case studies. Rob Moyle, a vehicle mechanics tutor at Truro College in Cornwall, was encouraged to take part in the Business Interchange programme because it would contribute towards his continuing professional development (CPD).
