RISING GOLD PRODUCTION and cash flow have signalled the turnaround for Kingsgate Consolidated Ltd at its Chatree mine in Thailand after two years of low grade hell. Chatree returned to full production capacity in the March quarter (32,992 ounces from ore grading 1.7 grams/tonne over the three month period), with a better June quarter forecast of 150,000 oz per annum currently in place with the help of new mining areas at Chatree North. The company is planning to double this by the end of 2010 and expects to make an expansion decision by the conclusion of this year.
