PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the operational authority of a projector by which unauthorized use is prevented and the operational authority of a function required by a user can be given to the user, and a projector using the method for controlling the operational authority and a control program for the operational authority of a projector. PSOLUTION: When a password is inputted at the time of starting the projector and the inputted password agrees with any password set by every operational authority level registered in a storage part 14, a control part 13 makes the operation of a function stored in the storage part 14 corresponding to the operational authority level of the password which agrees therewith possible.
