Company maker on the cards in Argentina

Sydney-based Stock Resource has reminded the market of an Australian junior that looks set to become a modest iron ore producer in Chile and - perhaps more importantly - holds a significant share in what looks to be a world class lithium project in Argentina. Diversified developer/explorer Admiralty Resources NL is preparing for its first mining venture with the commissioning of the in situ low grade Santa Barbara iron ore play in Chile, an undertaking the Victorian company has in a joint venture with Sociedad Contractual Minera Santa Barbara. Located 7 kilometres south west of Vallenar (population 20,000) and 55 km from the commercial port of Huasco Bay, the planned operations are based around 10 mine sites containing a mixture of alluvial and hard rock iron ore deposits as well as stockpiled iron ore fines from a lump iron ore operation that ceased during the early 1970s.
