Mineral Deposits Ltd is close to receiving final approval of its feasibility study for the gearing up of its Grande Cote zircon project .(GCZP) in Senegal. The document is currently being reviewed by engineering consulting firm Ausenco and Mineral Deposits executive director Martin Ackland is hopeful the review will be finalised by the end of the quarter. The study is focusing on the economics and logistics of shipping, modifying and ramping up the company's mineral sands processing facilities from Australia to Senegal. Minerals Deposits has estimated the cost to be in the order of US50 million dollars, but this figure has the scope to be adjusted either higher or lower through the Ausenco review. So far the company has set up an office, a laboratory and shipped a number of drill rigs to the west African country. The head office is located at Thies, a town sitting between Senegal's capital of Dakar'and the GCZP deposit (which itself lies around 100 kilometres north of the capital).
