When on the material action is practised with an additional thermodymamic potential, as for instance its exposition in media delivering atoms capable to penetrate the crystalline network of its superficial layers, then usually new constituents are appearing. A typical example is the formation and growing of carbide particles in the hypercarburization process of a low alloyed steel. The appearance of three different types of distinct precipitates: massive carbides (M), carbide films (F), intragranular precipitated carbides (I). The study of the constituent morphology identifies the presence of the common structural elements of the step level type on the side faces of the carbide plates M, F.
