摘要

AMONG thermal barrier coatings (TBCs),~[1,2,3] electron beam-physical vapor deposited (EB-PVD) coating has been expected to apply to turbine engines.~[4,5,6] The EB-PVD TBC has the advantage of a lower apparent transverse modulus and thermal expansion coefficient compared to that processed by plasma-spray method. The performance of the EB-PVD TBC system, especially fracture and decohesion behavior of the top coat from substrate, is affected by a residual stress in the top coat layer, thus making it important to know the residual stress of the TBC layer.
