Kayser copper expansion goes fully on line

GERMAN secondary copper producer Huttenwerke Kayser should this week achieve the full capacity of 155,000 tpy at its modified refinery at Lunen, near Dortmund following the mid-month start up of the final section of a tankhouse conversion. The project raises the company's cathode capacity by 30,000 tpy, and subject to scrap availability Kayser intends to operate at its new rating. Last year it produced 122,000 tonnes of grade A cathode.
