Time and mobility in the analytical encounter

Severe trauma, strict principles and guidelines transferred within families are likely to induce inscriptions into the psyche by terms of unconscious identification and internalization. As enclosed foreign bodies in the inner space they evade transience as well as vital processes. Possibilities to transform these long lasting inscriptions during the analytical relationship in order to restore new ways of creativity, flexibility and vitality are pursued. The two theoretical concepts of primary process and repetition compulsion are developed to analyze correspondents of temporality in the unconscious. Further equivalents, such as mobility, activity and circularity are pointed out. Finally the "inner mobility" of the analyst is explored along clinical case material and the theoretical concepts of Wei, Loewald, Birksted-Breen and Marucco to point out modes of transformation in the analytical encounter.
