Industrial Mathematics Internships

Industrial Mathematical Internships create new collaborations between university research groups and companies, which can then grow over time through other mechanisms. Each internship is a collaboration between a host company, a research group and a student who will carry out a stand-alone project that develops or exploits some capability in industrial mathematics within three to six months. The projects benefit the Intern by providing experience of working in industry, which will enhance and widen future employment opportunities. The internships benefit the company by providing an enthusiastic individual to produce a fast and efficient way of solving an urgent business challenge. The links between company and university research group provide a long-term benefit for both organisations.
