Norfolk County in southwestern Ontario has long been a stronghold of the tobacco industry. But over the past few years, due to economic conditions and changing markets, new crops and businesses have begun to make their mark here. And George Benko andhis wife Shirley, former tobacco farmers, are part of that change in recently opening Norfolk Estate Winery. Benko has grown both apples and tobacco on his St., Williams area farm since 1955 However in 1984, he transferred completely into orchard production, expanding and improving his operations.
