Description of the proper PPE in order to avoid unintentional exposure to hydrofluoric acid. Hydrofluoric acid is an inorganic acid that is used to clean and etch laboratory glassware. Aqueous hydrofluoric acid is a clear, colorless liquid. It is corrosive and causes severe burns to the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. It is very toxic! It is therefore imperative that adequate protective measures be followed in order to not have any unintentional exposure to this strong acid.
