When do tools intended to measure and enhance productivity, breach privacy or become oppressive? It is not new to have people obs/erved performing an operation to measure an activity's standard time; nor is it new to use video cameras to record activity over a longer time frame to analyse wasteful activity. But the availability of technology for constant monitoring and the quest for ever-improved productivity and elimination of waste seem to have merged. Where will it end; where will it start?
