CURRENT OVERVIEW AND FUTURE OF BUSINESS HIGHER EDUCATION

There is currently a war raging between profit and not for profit schools or non traditional versus traditional schools of business and education (Lenington, R. L. (2002). What seems obvious to the customer of this higher education (Masters and Doctorate level) is that the school does not matter as much as the quality of program, the quality of mentoring from the instructors and the quality of the overall service. This co-written article addresses several areas relevant to business education including: a unique perspective on adult education, diversity, needs of foreign students in US higher education, application of this education and marketing these programs and finally a futurist view of what this education could develop into. These programs need to evolve to fulfill the needs and wants of a highly diverse global student population who are fast learners. The first section of this paper presents an overview of andragogy and pedagogy, both of which formed the foundation for higher education as we know it today.
