Antwerp, Zeebrugge, Amsterdam, Rotterdam - the North Sea ports are on the crest of a wave. The Flemish seaports Antwerp and Zeebrugge were again able to improve handling with the standard-containers in the first semester of 2008 by more than 10%. Whereas the Antwerp municipal port company SHA shows container handling of 4.4 million TEU (this corresponds with a plus of 10.4% in comparison with the previous year), handling at Zeebrugge increased by 15.1 % to a current total of 1.1 million standard containers (TEU).
