SUNOCO PIPELINE SEEKS FERC AUTHORIZATIONS TO FACILITATE NEW ETHANE PIPELINE SERVICE FROM GROWING MARCELLUS SHALE AREA

Sunoco Pipeline LP (OR11-22) earlier this month tendered for filing a petition for a declaratory order requesting that FERC approve "priority service" for a proposed Mariner West ethane pipeline and the overall tariff and rate structure for the project. Mariner West will create an outlet to move excess ethane from the gas wells in Pennsylvania to existing natural gas liquids (NGL) markets in the Midwestern U.S. and central Canada. Total throughput is currently projected to be between 45,000 and 50,000 bpd.
