Tennessee Formally Requests Authorizations to Develop Two-Part Line 300 Expansion in Order to Supply its Anchor Shipper EQT Energy

Lost in the bowels of FERC for nearly two weeks has been the formal application by Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. (CP09-444) for certificate authority to extensively develop pipeline and compression facilities in Pennsylvania and New Jersey that will be combined with Tennessee's existing 300 Line System. Tennessee proposes to increase pipeline capacity on the 300 Line to provide an additional 350,000 dth/d of firm natural gas transportation service and to implement general system upgrades by replacing certain compressor station equipment in order to maintain integrity and reliability of its system. The plan in the prefiling documents (PF09-1)1 and the project described to the Commission on 7/17/09 entail the installation of approximately 128 miles of pipeline looping and approximately 55,000 horsepower compression through the construction of two new compressor stations and modifications at seven existing compressor stations. Tennessee, also, proposes to replace compression facilities at four of the seven existing stations.
