As salmon farmers from all over the world gear up to head to Brussels for this year's instalment of ESE, Scottish producers are able to claim that they are the most humane producers of farmed salmon on the planet. Indeed, the world's oldest and largest animal welfare organisation, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) reports that a remarkable 70 per cent of Scottish farmed salmon are now 'Freedom Food' approved.
