Designer named for UK potash mine

SIRIUS MINERALS plc has appointed the mine shaftdesign specialists Alan Auld Engineering Ltd to developlining design and sinking concepts for the York PotashProject in North Yorkshire, UK. The project will involvesinking shafts to well over 1,000 metres through highlyvaried strata and will require a shaft lining which canwithstand high hydrostatic loadings, as well as being ableto accommodate strata subject to deformations and timedependant creep, said Sirius.
