Guidelines on herbicide resistance are updated

Increasing use of shallow cultivations, the impending loss of IPU and trifluralin and the wider use of high-risk herbicides mean resistance management advice is changing, says James Clarke, chairman of the Weed Resistance Action Group (WRAG). The WRAGguidelines were published in 2003 and will be rewritten when the LINK project "Integrated Management of Herbicide Resistance" is complete, he says. "There will be much more information in the next year or so, but we need to make growers aware of changes and how they might affect results in the field. The obvious thing was to produce a technical update."
