摘要

ISO/DIS 16446 specifies a universal method for the joining of oil spill containment booms with dissimilar connectors through the use of a standard adaptor with prescribed mating specifications. This standard does not intend to replace the design of existing connectors.The TC 8/SC 2 on Marine Environment Protection has decided to standardize oil spill containment boom connection methods to facilitate joining booms of various types and with different connectors during major oil spills.
