JV stalls over gas supply

Oman: A proposal to build a cement plant in Oman's northern city of Al Duqm has been put on hold due to doubts about the long-term availability of natural gas. The initial proposal was to promote the project as a joint venture between Raysut Cement Company and Oman Cement Company, which have a combined capacity of 4.7Mt/yr. The project was due to have been supported by a government-owned company.
