Fish hydrolyzate: a promising cocktail against Fusarium

About a year ago, several growers asked us what we thought of fish hydrolyzate, and whether we thought that it is any good to use in potting mixes or hydroponic systems. The fish hydrolyzate product that we were aware of was Drammatic К from the Dramm Corporation, which is distributed by Louis Damm of Fenwick, Ontario. What did we think of it? Well, it's a dark, murky liquid that doesn't smell anywhere near as bad as one might expect. We were aware of comments by some growers that root systems of plants treated with fish hydrolyzate often develop exceptionally well and appear unusually white and healthy. Plants nourished by fish hydrolyzate were sometimes said to reach a marketable stage earlier than untreated plants.
