NORTH AMERICA - PIPELINES Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline to spend $240 million on pipeline expansion

Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline (M&NP) announced yesterday that it would spend around $240 million on a pipeline expansion project to accommodate extra production from Encana’s planned Deep Panuke project. M&NP operates a 1,400km transmission pipeline system to transport natural gas from offshore Nova Scotia developments to markets in Atlantic Canada and the northeastern United States. The company said in a statement that it planned on increasing the capacity of the 530km US arm of the pipeline through the installation of additional compressor stations and short length of pipeline loop.
