Deutz marks success of its 'toothed belt drive' engine

THE 900,000th engine of Deutz's 1011/2011 series left the assembly line in Cologne-Porz last December. The German company said the development concept for the 1011/2011 series was in 1983 "unconventional but convincing". Its innovative features included engine oil used as a cooling medium and a toothed belt drive.
