摘要

An important factor in electric system operation is its stability. A Power system stabilizer (PSS) whose objective is to generate stabilizing signal which are used to enhance damping of power system oscillations through excitation control of synchronous generator. In this paper, power system stabilizer based on four controllers are implemented on a single machine infinite bus system for attaining stability. Paper investigates on the four different controllers namely PI, PD, PID and Lead-Lag and a comparison study was done with the above controllers. These results are simulated in MATLAB simulink. For comparison Speed deviations, load angle deviations and terminal voltage deviations are taken in which the controllers showing its own advantages and disadvantage. Then using an optimization method, the lead-lag controllers tuning using Particle Swarm Optimization method are done and it get optimizes. A case study is taken for the optimization based Power system stabilizer.
