A successful case of a surgical resection for primary lung cancer with polypoid growth in the main pulmonary artery.

A 67-year old female complained of chronic chest pain. A chest computed tomography demonstrated a nodule in S6 of the right lung and a mass in the right pulmonary artery (Fig. 1). A right pneumonectomy was performed, and pathological examination revealed squamous cell carcinoma with polypoid growth in the right main pulmonary artery (Fig. 2).
